weST toKYo

Ever since I came to Tokyo, I learnt that walking sometimes may save some money on transportation, but this time, I think I walked too much! All the way from Yoyogi, which is the green spot, all the way to Kichijoji and Mitaka (三鷹), which is the triangle area. That was all I walked for today, but I was really worn out. So, for my last stop, Ikebukuro (池袋), I had to transfer one time to get there.

On the way to Kichijoji--Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices.
The huge ad they're having is saying that Japan is one of the applicants for the Olympics 2016.

Gotta stop for food! Mos burger for lunch. Couldn't find rice burger....

Almost there! I reached 2nd former JR station.

Still on the way. Fancy residential area.

Another fancy Japanese house.

Reached Kichijoji! Heading for Citibank first. Paying my rent tomorrow. :)

Yeah...! I've been waiting for this since last time I came.

Left: Japanese snack from Ozasa (小ざさ) shop. 54 yen each.
Right: Beef Croquette (メンチかつ)--180 yen.

They were both awesome!! The beef croquette was so juicy! I thought they would mix mashed potato with beef, but there was beef and onion only. I think because I carried it all the way since I bought it, so, it turned into a ball shape. Beef ball?
Wow... Mitaka JR station.

Heading toward Ghiburi Museum.!!

Let's go!

Totoro....Totoro....

This is what they call "The Road of Wind" (風の散歩道)

They didn't sell tickets at their museum, so I was lucky to be able to buy it at this convenient store around.

I was freaked out when the staff at the entrance asked me for the admission ticket and told me that they don't sell it at their museum. He told me that I should buy ticket at my country. I was like "what the heck", but I'm not going back home in a month. Even if I go back, I won't buy the ticket and come back right away. So, I was lucky it was a not-so-busy-weekday, I could buy a ticket easily at the store.

One of the admission ticket. This one was for the 16-mins-long short movie.

The entrance. Found Totoro?

Exterior of the museum.
It's prohibited to take pictures inside, so, I can only show you the outside. It was so fun inside. It's like its world in there. It was really an amazing feeling to see all the original works of the movies I've seen since I was little in Taiwan. Who knows that I could make it to Japan Mitaka and see all the original works? It was super touching....
I'm in a cage!

It was the way to the top of the building.

It was nice weather.

Crowded on the roof.

Overlooking the entrance.

I guess I should be fine taking picture in the restroom. I hope this is my future restroom. :)

Wow... Totoro style bus. The museum closes at 6 PM, so it's almost all dark outside.

Ikebukuro, let's go!

Looks like Shibuya, but feels much better.
I spend at lease an hour shopping in Tokyu Hands. Too bad they close at 8PM. I could only finish 3 floors.
Awesome day! My legs weren't mine anymore at the end of the day, too. But it was worthwhile, I got my omiyage with me, too.

To be honest, I really envy you. I really want to have a trip like yours...really go into streets and lanes in that country and enjoy the style of local people's life. I suggest that you write something about every spot you've been to, like a traveling story!!! Then, one day, you may publish your own traveling book. ^_^

You have to buy the ticket in your own country?! That's ridiculous. But, if that is ture, how can you buy the ticket just because it's weekday?!
I love 宮崎駿's animation a lot, especially the old works.

I have to thank my family for supporting all my decisions in my life. Although I'm spending my money and my time, having a supportive family and friends helps me really enjoy whatever I do. This is more than what I'm asking for. :)

For the museum, I think I was really lucky to go when they weren't busy. They asked me to buy tickets at my country and It has to have my name and passport number on it. I think when they get to a really busy season, they really don't have space for anybody who didn't make reservation. Here's their website for you to check:

You will feel very happy but still can't help dropping tears, coz it's a really touching experience!
