築地-日本橋-東京駅-銀座-新橋 iN One DAy

I thought I could have my day started early in the morning today, just for Tsukiji (築地) fish market. I wanted to see Japanese people unload the fresh fish, and then start the wholesale auction. Unfortunately, I couldn't make it. But I found it's a very pleasant walk to get there, so, I'm going again soon!
This is where I started my day and my walk--Shinagawa

Very beautiful day.

If you pay attention, Tokyo Tower is always around!

Pasted by Tokyo University of Science and Technology unexpectedly.

Highway on the right, and Shinkansen (新幹線)railroad in the front.

So complicated construction.

And then I started to see ocean!

Cool park for children!

Hahaha...so cute! There's a theme around here!

When was your last time seeing ocean?

Even the building feels ocean-like.

Heading to the heart of the city!!

Field trip for the kids I guess. I want to study Japanese with them!

Yo yo.....!! Tsukiji fish market!

Inside the fish market

Starting to see lines in front of the restaurants.

My top restaurant--大和

I’m not kidding, when I got there at 11:25 AM, there were 35 people in front of me. All of them were Japanese. A lot of them were carrying tour guides, too. I was ready for a long long wait. But at 12:53, because I went alone, they kind of let me cut the line when only one customer left. Lucky! I ordered the set menu for one person, which was recommended and which was what everybody else ordered. 7 nigiri and a sushi roll along with a bowl of miso soup. I forgot to take a picture of the soup, but they had little clams in the soup. I wanted to have them, but both the Japanese people didn't have theirs. Maybe it's just for flavor, so I gave in and cooperated. Here's the chief's choice today:

The starter, very soft and flavorful. I love a little fat, so this was perfect.

I'm a great sea-urchin Uni-lover, the orange one in the middle, and this is the greatest I've had ever! It was really really fresh, it had sea-urchin's flavor, but as you taste it in your mouth, you also feel the whole ocean. I am not kidding. I would usually try to stop myself from smiling when I have something delicious, but today, I spent time and money to get this far, I let whatever my body felt like. So, I was smiling all the time since the moment I got into the tiny restaurant. Each one of the nigiri were put in front of you by the cheif right after its done. Different from American style sushi restaurants, in which the whole plate would be brought to you when it's all done.

The egg nigiri was superb as well. Tender, juicy, and the sweetness was just right.

The ending nigiri and "service" grilled shrimp on the right.

I personally don't like chewy fish. So, I was sad to have this one for ending. But the freshly grilled shrimp, with nothing added, saved my meal! It had the same effect as the sea-urchin. I felt the fresh but little salty sea, and at the same time, the great flavor brought out by grilling.

Bravo- was the only thing I could say for the meal.

Didn't want to ruin your expectation in the beginning, but this set meal cost me 3,500 yen. I don't think I will do this again, not that it's not worth it, but it's more than what I can afford now. But at least I can say "I've been here, and I've done it".

The market outside Tsukiji fish market. Very nice feeling in spite of the location, which is in the center of Tokyo. Everybody's energetic because of the fresh seafood, I guess.

Donburi (your choice of dish over a bowl of rice) restaurant. No place to sit, so they had table outside to stand by.

築地本願寺 was on the way to Nihonbashi

Can't help. :P Cute appearance of the toilet at the subway hallway.

Back to track! Getting close to Nihonbashi.

Finally!

Buildings here has a traditional style.

In front of Tokyo train station, people!!

Its modern look.

Inside the station.

Toilet part 2.

Different feeling?! Another part of the station.

Exactly! This is the historical look of Tokyo train station. Too bad that they were having construction outside.

Beautiful built with red bricks.

In front of the station.

Wide roads.

Reached Kokyo (皇居), the Imperial Palace around the station.

I secretly took a picture of the foriegn couple. The mom was pregnant, but still out-standing because of her beauty.

Niju-bashi (二重橋). Must see!

Sakurada-mon (桜田門)

These huge stones were blocking entrance of cars.

楠正成像

I want to marry him and his horse! Haha....

Landmark of Gynza--Wako (和光)Department store

Legandary Gynza desserts. Didn't try though. Still satisfied by Tsukiji fish. :)

Shopping heaven to all the females except me, I think.

Wowooo...You see what I see?

Kabuki-za (歌舞伎座)

Didn't try to go in for the show, I wouldn't understand, and for the show, I wouldn't understand, and I wouldn show, I wouldn't understand, and I wouldn't be I wouldn't understand, and I wouldn't be able to take pictures inside anyway.

Escalator? This is very interesting. Too busy to walk, Tokyo people?

Heading to Shinbashi.

Another historical building-Old Shinbashi station (旧市新橋停車場)

This place wasn't seen on my only planet tour guide, but I like this place a lot. Inside is a 2-floor display of historical documents, pitcures and items related to Japan train stations. Although Tokyo train station is the main focus today, but this staion was actually the very start of railways all the way down to Kyoto (京都)in the past. I felt like I was standing at a spot really important in the past. I felt time and history when I was in this building. Admission free!

Getting dark! This is Japan TV Tower (日本テレビタワ)

Going down stairs for something....

Red-bean-bread superman shop!

I bought one, and I will have it tomorrow!

This was a surprise!

I just missed the time though.

Something's going on here....

I still don't know who he is.

Heading home! Saw my future puppy! Too expensive in Tokyo. Sorry, but I can't afford you...

Again, I was followd by Tokyo Tower.
Today was one of the best areas I've gone to. Food, history, fashion and everything.... Hope you liked it, too. Please come yourself, and feel what I felt. Everything except the set meal for lunch and suvaner at Anpanman shop cost money. Other than those, I didn't spend a penny on anywhere I went or anything I saw.
