Hahaha.... of course I still remember it's Chinese lunar new year, even after staying in the States for 2 1/2 years straight!! Although Japanese people don't celebrate this holiday, I still found my way to feel what it supposed to feel like through this trip!
??
And this was how my trip went:
??
Set off from our train station.
Usually I would be takeing the right side station most of the time, because I always go downtown Tokyo, but today, I'm out of Tokyo!!
Sitting at the very front. Exciting! Arriving at Yokohama (横浜) station!
Since I had time today, I took the slower local train, which is always red ones.
East exit of Yokohama station. Sunny, isn't it?!
This was where I walked along--Manri Bridge (万里橋) and Senzan Bridge (浅山橋). The Takashimaya building was around Yokohama Station. I'm heading to Sakuragicho(桜木町) Station.
Along Sakuragawashin Street (桜川新道)
Turned left onto Primary Road 16, coz Sakuragawacho Station's close.
I'm so here!! 130 yen saved... (laugh)
Wow...!! The middle building is the landmark of the city.
Gotta go check the landmark first. I heard there's observatory on the 69th floor.
Passenger conveyers!! People here must be as busy as the people in the airport!
On my right side.
Salt water made me super excited!!
I'm going to the top of the building!!
Inside the landmark is like a mall itself. But there are offices, too.

??
??
??
??????
Food... always priority. Chinese-Japanese style egg plant bowl (麻婆茄子丼). 740 yen.
Back to business!! Admission 1000 yen.
It's said to be the world's fastest lift-- 750 m/minute (45 km/hr)

Northeast wing.
I'm so like on the helicopter!! 273 meter away from ground!
Speechless.

Southeast wing.
There are serveral place in this picture I'm visiting today, like China Town.

Southwest Wing.
I came from the bottom of this picture.
Yeah... Sakuragawacho Station from the top (the white strip).

Northwest wing.
Found the Takashimaya building? That's around Yokohama station, I walked from there!!
PEACE & LOVE-- an art museum around.
Can you find Fuji Mountain (富士山)?
I could bearly, too. But I really wanted to see it, so I waited. This was the best I could get.
Hahahaha... down to earth again.!
Cute bus.
Cool!
ME!
Having fun!
Maybe I look a little tired. :P
Public toilet. Neat!
Heading towards China Town!
1/2 presidential palace?

??
??
??
I like this corner.
??

Totally Chinese New Year!! I almost burst out tears, being so away from home so long.
Japanese people like this, too, I guess.
In China town. Numerous restaurants.
Lion dance #2.
Lion dance #3.
Big crowd still.
Kantei temple (関帝廟).
Yokohama Daisekai (横浜大世界)--Chinese theme park. Didn't interest me.

The fortune-telling place next to it was popular though.
Lion dance #4.
Spring roll. 160 yen.

Couldn't find Peiking duck for only my serving, so these were all I had. :(
Time to go home! This wasn't on the plan, but I'm taking a ship back to Yokohama Station?
Nop, not this one, that was what I thought, too.
It's this little fellow.
Interior.

Yokohama looks beautiful at night, too.

Minatomirai 21 (港未来21)

Getting close to the place I visited this afternoon.
The Red Brick Warehouse (赤レンガ倉庫)
Reaching Yokohama Station!
There goes the ride I was on.
Passenger conveyer again!! Busy Tokyo people.

Hall mall connecting to the station.
I'm taking a carriage for female only (there were men though)This was the first time I've ever got out of Tokyo since I came here 3 weeks ago. But this was the funnest day I had in Japan. I think it's because I haven't seen salt water for so long. Indiana, U.S.A., had no salt water, not to mention ports, beaches, or anything related to sea. It only took me 320 yen and 30 minutes to come to Yokohama. Compare to Shibuya, it takes 350 yen and around 1 hour, and I have to transfer 1 time. I love Yokohama!! It's not as busy as it is in downtown Tokyo, even though it has a lot of passenger conveyers. I'm so coming again!

Did you take the woman-only train? Weren't you afraid of attacking by lesbians? hahahahah
Anyway, you seem to have a good time there in Japan. Have fun!!!
Do I look like a person who would be targeted? Therefore, I think I'm pretty safe.
And I sure had fun in Yokohama!
先跟你說聲新年快樂

今天晚上和朋友去逛夜市
已經很久沒逛了
有時間去我的msn可以看照片
Yokohama seems a lovely place to me, though I've never been there before. I don't even know it's so close to Tokyo, just 30 mins away.
Little ferry tour around the seaport, surrounding by the gorgeous architectures, "ship shaped building" and the ferry wheel.
I miss the ocean, too.
BTW, you need a tripod, seriously. Go to get one like this.
http://www.amazon.com/Joby-GP1-0PEN-Gorillapod-Flexible-Tripod/dp/B000VRET8G/ref=sr_1_11?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1202825756&sr=8-11
I'm not sure if I can take a tripode with me getting around. Plus, I have to do so much walking all the time. It's okay not to take pictures of myself, coz I don't think I change much. I'm not getting fat, am I?
Thanks for the suggestion though. If I'm traveling with somebody, I might buy one, and ask the person to carry for me. :)
Well, try this, Joby mini tripod is just right for you.
It's only 275 grams and 15 cm long, even smaller than your purse. However, the things that it can do is huge. Need some creativity though.
